Tasting the delights of the vineyard in Stockcross

A hotel with credibility in wine …

Filled to the brim with rare and tasteful wines from around the world, the Vineyard winery houses around 23,000 bottles, and this just keeps growing and growing! The Vineyard is known for hosting wine dinners, wine fairs, and wine schools.

The hotel’s Head Sommelier, and recently crowned UK Sommelier of the Year, Yohann Jousselin is brimming with knowledge on all things wine, knowledge that he happily shares with staff and guests alike.

In fact, The Vineyard loves wine so much that the sumptuous suites are named after the drink. Suites include La Carrière, Mon Plaisir, Les Pavots, Point Rouge, Belle Côte, and The Afternoon.

Exquisite art collection

Besides being a devotee of wine, the owner of the vineyard is an art lover. As soon as he bought The Vineyard in Stockcross, he set about adorning the restaurant’s walls, suites, and hallways with his remarkable collection of art, which is aptly known as the Michael Collection. This collection, in itself, draws guests to the hotel.

Luxuriously decorated suites

From luxurious traditional suites to contemporary suites, each is individually designed and complete with Italian marble bathrooms.

Take La Carrière, for example. One of the Grand Suites, it offers the ultimate in luxury. La Carrière is elegantly designed and features an impressive four-poster bed, a spacious seating area with a flat-screen TV, and a work desk.

The individually designed Italian marble bathroom has a freestanding bathtub, large separate shower, comfortable slippers, fluffy dresses, and ultra-luxurious Molton Brown toiletries.

A gastronomic affair

Then there is the most exquisite food. Enjoy interesting dishes packed with flavor, courtesy of Executive Chef Daniel Galmiche. Awarded the Relais Chateaux Worldwide Rising Chef Award 2011, Daniel has had a Michelin star for 20 years.

Served in the contemporary restaurant, you can expect a delicious combination of French cuisine, with Mediterranean and Far Eastern influences. 80% of the ingredients used come from the south of England. The fish, which is fished by line, is from Cornwall and Scotland.

The Vineyard’s à la carte menu includes culinary delights ranging from poached hand-cooked Scottish scallops to locally sourced free-range produce and sumptuous desserts.

Next stop: relaxation

The highly rated Spa at the Vineyard is a truly relaxing place … this is where you can be pampered until you feel satisfied. Award-winning spa features an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna.

An oasis of complete tranquility, you can choose from a selection of indulgent treatments here, including a hot stone ritual, a Darphin Stimulskin skin tightening facial, an ESPA detox seaweed wrap, and much more.

The Vineyard also offers a selection of spa days, nights, and breaks, so you can experience the Vineyard Spa at its best. You can also use the gym during your stay, which offers cardio equipment, weights and mats, the perfect place to work out.

Scenic location

Nestled in picturesque countryside, the Vineyard at Stockcross is perfect if you are looking to walk or bike. Nearby Donnington Grove Country Club can be found – this is for you if you want to play golf in the most beautiful setting.

With all of the above in mind, it is certainly no wonder that many have fallen in love with this beautiful retreat. With a wonderful combination of luxurious accommodations, gourmet food, fine wines and an exquisite collection of original art adorning the walls, we will certainly raise a glass through the vineyard at Stockcross.
