It’s a very thorough and well put together homeschool curriculum that you can use with any level of student from middle to high school.

Literature D: Intro to American History, Year 1 of 2 (Sonlight) – If you’re looking for a living book based curriculum that teaches Bible, reading and history then this is the one for you! It is a Charlotte Mason-inspired curriculum that helps young children learn about the world through literature rather than textbooks. Sonlight K, American History – This curriculum is perfect for Kindergarten through first grade and will teach your children about important historical people from our nation’s past. It also includes the stories of key events that made our country what it is today!

All American History Junior – This is another option for younger students and was designed by Bright Ideas Press specifically for this age group. It has a student reader and an activity book with alternative map work, literature study guides, fold out maps, puzzles, notebooking pages, folder books and more!

I love the way this curriculum brings American history to life for my kids. The student reader is written in a story-like format that makes it easy for them to understand the stories and the information they are learning. They also learn about the Bible in a unique way, by reading Bible verses that are related to the historical stories.

I also like the fact that the lessons are broken down into three parts: atmosphere, event and impact. This helps the student to understand the setting in which the historical event occurred, the details of that event and how it affected the future of America. They also complete a set of review questions at the end of each lesson before moving on to the next chapter.
