Browsing for the first time – Not sure?

This time I am going to tell you all the good things about cruises:

1. You visit many places without any effort on your part
2. You don’t pay expensive accommodation every night
3. You can have as much food as you want
4. You can visit the theater almost every night to see the best shows.

The idea that you visit many places is true. The fact that you rarely have more than eight hours to do so will either whet your appetite for another visit or please you that you’ll be moving to a different place in a day or so. Sometimes a quick scan is enough.

Don’t expect to do everything in the limited time available. You don’t even have to jump ship (it can be nice and quiet if you don’t), although I always think this is a waste. You may never visit the place again, so why not give it a try?

Just a warning, sometimes the nearest town is a bus ride from the port. Sometimes this can be a long round trip, eating up the eight hours you have, so you can feel rushed!

The cabins on board can be simple and a bit small, but since I spend so little time in them, I always opt for the cheaper ‘inside cabins’. Also, rooms with balconies rarely interest me, as I can always find a good vantage point on one of the upper decks. Your accommodation is basic, but comfortable and relatively cheap per night when compared to a hotel.

Many people go on cruises just for the food and the fact that they can be expected for most meals. For main meals there may be a dress code on certain days, involving formal wear such as suits and dresses. There will always be alternative burger joints you can go to where this won’t be the case! Meals rarely have drinks included, especially alcoholic ones.

Theater isn’t mentioned much on a cruise, but I know you can get great performances that rival London’s West End shows. Your theatrical entertainment can become part of your regular activities and is a great way to unwind after a long day. Alcoholic beverages are sold everywhere on board throughout the day, including in the theater.

So there it is, just a few things to think about.
