Look no further than the HTC Sensation or HTC Evo 3D for the most advanced touch screens

It seems that with every smartphone release, we see bigger and bigger screens. Not only is the technology used to display images on the screen improving, but touchscreen capabilities are also improving, largely thanks to features like dual-core processors.

HTC is one of the most prolific manufacturers in the field of smartphones, and the trend for larger screens is evident in its latest releases. The HTC Evo 3D sports a 4.3-inch screen, just like its new flagship smartphone, the HTC Sensation. In this article, I’ll compare the displays of these two devices and give a brief overview of their other key features.

HTC Evo 3D

The HTC Evo 3D packs an impressive list of specs from start to finish. Everything about the phone is premium, especially the screen. At 4.3 inches, it offers a pixel resolution of 540 x 960, one of the highest on the market. This obviously produces excellent display quality, but the real treat here is the 3D viewing capabilities. Images and videos can be displayed in 3D, thanks to the built-in 3D S-LCD capacitive technology. There are only a small number of phones that offer this technology, with the HTC Evo 3D being one of the first. And in case you were wondering, you don’t need to wear a pair of 3D glasses to enjoy 3D content on HTC Evo 3D.

The HTC Sensation is the manufacturer’s flagship Android smartphone, recently replacing the HTC Desire HD, which previously held the title. As with the HTC Evo 3D, the HTC Sensation has a 4.3-inch screen, the main difference being that it doesn’t display true 3D. With a pixel resolution of 540x 960, it produces very nice results in terms of display quality. Despite the large screen, the resolution is high enough to keep levels of detail and clarity on par, and indeed better than many of the competing phones. As a bonus, the screen on the HTC Sensation is made of Gorilla Glass, which is tactile and tough, so you don’t have to worry about dropping your phone from time to time.

Now that we’ve had a look at the displays, what else do these phones offer? Aside from the HTC Evo 3D’s 3D capabilities, the pair’s spec lists largely say the same thing. 1.2 GHz dual-core processors are available to benefit not only screen response times, but also web browser performance, multitasking, and better operating system and application performance. The OS of choice is Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), the latest software version, and both run HTC Sense 3.0 UI on top of it. However, one of the main differences is the camera. The HTC Sensation outperforms the HTC Evo 3D in terms of pixels (8 megapixels compared to the Evo 3D at 5 megapixels), but the Evo 3D offers the ability to record 3D video footage.

As you can see, both phones are great, and if you’re looking to choose between the two, it would seem that the main deciding factor would be whether you’re looking for a phone with 3D capabilities. Either way, everyone makes a great choice, with the HTC Sensation now available on various UK networks, with many deals offering the phone for free. The HTC Evo 3D will launch soon, with similar deals available.
