Off-season deals and weather make fall the best time to visit Tampa Bay beaches

When you think of Florida, you think of palm trees, gentle blue waves lapping up the beach, and of course, the summer sun. But fall is actually a better time to travel to Florida because of the off-season deals you can get and because it’s less crowded.

If you vacation in Tampa Bay from May through August, you can expect to pay up to $1,000 more for a weekly stay instead of vacationing in the fall. This is especially true for hotels. In fact, luxury hotels in St. Pete Beach can charge a lot, not only in terms of room charge, but also when you add the additional costs of parking, resort fees, Wi-Fi, and other fees.

Vacation rental condos, also known as timeshares, have become increasingly popular on the beach in recent years. Parking, Wi-Fi and other amenities. With these you can also expect to pay significantly less during the fall/winter months.

In addition to lodging, much of the St. Pete Beach area recreation offers lower rates for things like jet ski rentals, bike rentals, scooter rentals, parasailing, fishing charters, boating, and more. Even some of the local country clubs offer better deals for golf and tennis, which is what many tourists love to spend their free time in the area. Even the mini golf courses in the area offer deals during the low season.

Vacationing in Florida during the off-season also means less wait times at restaurants, and sometimes better specials, such as “buy one, get fifty percent off” on dining. This can really add up if you are traveling with the family.

If you’re staying on the beaches, for the most part, restaurants, recreation, and shopping are within walking distance of hotels and vacation rentals, but if you need to take a cab to St. Petersburg, or even downtown from St. Petersburg, you won’t have any trouble getting a cab or, better yet, you can take a streetcar for a convenient scenic view of the area.

If you’re an outdoorsy type of person who enjoys running, biking, walking, or just taking a leisurely walk, this is absolutely the best time of year to visit Florida. The temperature cools down without cooling down, while during the summer, the heat can be almost unbearable, and tourists get sunburned no matter how many times they apply sunscreen.
