Solve the problem of color choice for granite countertops

When it comes to designing a countertop for your kitchen, the main dilemma most people run into is what color to choose to match their kitchen. Imaginations fly around what color of granite would make the kitchen look truly spectacular. But the fact is, most of the time what you imagine is not what you actually end up with, which means that most of the time consumers end up unhappy with the results. This can be avoided by keeping a few simple things in mind.

First of all, one should look for a great granite shop, I mean really big. Consumers tend to go to a local store and pick up a shadow from a shadow book, but keep in mind that the images in such books are clicked under perfect lighting conditions to make them look different in reality. So it always helps if the store has all the samples live on board and also in the form of granite slabs. I know going to such a big store means spending a few extra bucks, but trust me, every penny is worth it.

Also make sure that when you go to the granite store you bring a mock-up of the cabinet door with you or, if that’s not possible, click on a photograph of your existing cabinet door. Store professionals can always help you choose the best color if you have such a sample or photo. In fact, you will find that by doing so, even you can easily judge which color to choose.

Make sure the color you choose is the exact color you want. Without settling for something mediocre or that just fits. After all, the color of your kitchen countertop will define the look of the kitchen, so there will be no compromises in that area.

If you are not remodeling your kitchen, but building a whole new house, one very important thing to do is bring a floor sample along with a cabinet sample. In this way, you can keep all three things together: granite slab, cabinet sample, and floor sample. In this way, you will definitely be able to decide which granite slab color to choose.

The last thing after you’ve chosen your color is to ask the store to show you around 4-5 granite slabs. Just check if the patterns are similar in each of them and how the design is when assembled. Some particular colors of granite tend to have dark or light spots. Avoid those colors unless you really fall in love with that particular color.

Now after your kitchen measurement has been taken, the only thing left is to revisit the granite store and see what kind of cuts the people in the store are making and what the result of the color or pattern is.

Granite countertops are very important aspects when it comes to modeling your kitchen, so be sure to look at all the available samples, and if you’re unsure, it doesn’t hurt to take an expert’s advice.
