Sydney Olympic has been a proud part of the Australian football community for over 60 years. Their history is filled with a variety of great trophies and accolades, including NSL Championships and Cups, an NSL Minor Premiership and three NSW Premier League titles.

The club is also renowned for its great support and attendances at matches, setting a record crowd of 18,985 to their victory over Northern Spirit in 1998 at North Sydney Oval. Their Grand Final against Perth Glory in 2001/02 saw 42,735 fans in the stands at Subiaco Oval.

Despite their success, Sydney Olympic have experienced a number of setbacks in recent years. In season 2010 they equaled their worst league finish, ending the year in 2nd last spot and subsequently suffered the sacking of head coach Jose Gombau.

In 2011, with a new coaching staff and many new players, Sydney Olympic finished in 1st place, four points clear of Sydney rivals Sydney United FC to claim the Minor Premiership. In the Finals Series, they beat Sydney United 2-0 in the Semi-Final and beat them again by the same score-line in the Grand Final, in front of 10,000+ fans at Belmore Sports Ground, to become NSW Champions again.

This was the first time a team from outside of Sydney had won a major domestic title in over 30 years. The resulting surge in popularity and fan following made the club very popular amongst Soccer Academy Sydney fans.

Since then, they have won many trophies and competitions throughout Australia. Their achievements have also been widely recognised internationally.
