The value of scheduling posts

Have you ever panicked when it comes to posting your latest blog on time? You know that your audience is waiting for your next explanation or how to write an article. What will you have to give up so that those words come out on time? It is very frustrating not to have blogging under control.

The process can be totally frustrating and I’ve also run into the roadblock from time to time.

Do you know that you can simply schedule your posts using simple tactics like the WordPress Schedule button? That makes it so much easier. Knowing this, you will be able to write your posts ahead of the curve and simply schedule them. It sounds easy …

Here are some ideas that make the whole process even easier so you can’t worry about the date and time of your current scheduled posts:

  1. Install the Editorial Calendar plugin. Click the Add New Plugin button and find Editorial Calendar. I suggest you read about the plugin before installing it. As a reminder, you should always know if the plugin is compatible with your theme or to find any issues that may cause problems. If you consider everything clear, install it.
  2. Activate the plugin. It doesn’t take much to activate it and you should check your list of plugins to make sure it is active now.
  3. Click the Publications menu and select Calendar. The Calendar option should appear at the bottom of the list in the Publications menu.
  4. Choose the date you want your post to be scheduled and click the New Post title on the date. An editorial window will appear on your screen.
  5. Start entering your blog post. Enter your title Catchy and then add your content.
  6. Change the post time as you want it to be scheduled.
  7. Change the post status from Draft to Scheduled.
  8. Save the changes.

Now you may be thinking this is great, but you would rather work within the WordPress editor. I use this part only for programming and then I go to the editor to beautify my text and add images. This is where you can now access the regular editor directly from the Editorial Calendar. All you need to do is hover over the title on the calendar and click the Edit button. This will open the normal editor so you can finish your article.

Because scheduling takes time and knowing when your articles are posted, it’s much easier to just start with the calendar and fill in the gaps in the schedule, rather than trying to figure out when you scheduled items.

The Editorial Calendar will also allow you to drag your posts from one date to another if you find the need to move an item as something really important comes up and you prefer to write about a new topic.

Everything seems simple, and it is. The biggest challenge? Taking the time to write. This way you can write anytime and anywhere, you just have to program it in the best slot.
