Who uses dog waste bags?

As we explore our beautiful world with our pet, whether on a leash walk or at the local dog park, who is responsible for using the dog waste bags? Good question! Of course, the obvious answer may be the one who works out with his best friend: the good soul who walks his dog or enjoys his romp at the dog park. But what if there is more than one person playing?

Many studies have shown that it is usually the woman who does the good deed. Maybe because she has more experience changing dirty diapers, but men can do this job very well too. Perhaps because she has more agile fingers to gently pick up debris, but again, men can be instructed in this excellent task. Perhaps she is more environmentally conscious and aware of the health and pollution hazards of dog poop. Maybe she’s better at remembering the garbage bags. Well ladies, if you’re tired of always being the one to pick up the litter, then there’s a simple solution: teach them! And keep your dog’s waste bag carrier on the leash at all times with a ready supply of dog poop bags. Many carriers also have additional pockets for dog training accessories and one even offers a pocket for an inverted bottle of hand sanitizer.

And teach your children, too. If they are educated about how our dog droppings pollute our rivers, streams, and lakes and frequently close our beaches, then they too can be encouraged to do their part in protecting our environment. Because children, beach and summer go hand in hand. Another educational moment for your children would be to explain to them the advantages of using biodegradable bags for dog poop. Why would we put something that is completely biodegradable in a bag that will exist in a landfill for a few hundred generations? Finally, children are shorter, so they are closer to the ground and to the dog’s waste. Let them bend over and pick things up. They can then place the full dog poop bag in the dog waste carrier, preventing it from ripping and being unsightly if the poop bag hangs down.

The thing to remember is that whoever chooses to bag dog poop knows how to do it properly. In particular, they should know the importance of always using hand sanitizer afterward. Using a discreet, convenient, and hygienic dog waste bag carrier will give the responsible poop picker all the tools he needs to get the job done right and safely.
