Today, I want to talk about some that you can use to solve two problems we face in today’s world: diet and housekeeping. We all want to stay fit and always look young, right? Well, there are some free ones that you can employ to help you in your quest to do this.

This Fitnow iPhone app can help you set and stick to your daily calorie budgets. You can also log your food and exercise using a searchable database. You can re-enter foods and meals you’ve had in the past and use detailed online reports to track your progress. Simply put, it shows you how many calories each food has and allows you to channel your eating habits to stay within calorie limits for a given goal, like losing weight or just keeping fit.

This program has an iPhone application that has received good reviews for its usefulness in diet programs. It uses the fact that we tend to eat the same types of foods and that what determines the weight to actually come off and stay off is that your activity level has to exceed your caloric intake. This app has a food diary and activity log that helps you keep track of your food intake (and therefore the number of calories you eat) compared to your activity level (and therefore therefore, the number of calories burned).

This app currently has a searchable food database with over 507,000 items, a personalized diet profile to track your weight loss goals, a personal food database that allows you to add your own foods and recipes, and other great features.
