Indiana Hoosiers, Purdue Boilermakers meet in Big Ten Clash on ESPN

Jordan Hulls had his best game so far this season, but Victor Oladipo would have been the hero had he not missed a bell ringing for the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday. On the other hand, Indiana (12-12 SU, 8-9 ATS, 3-8 Big Ten) shouldn’t have needed the last-second basket as they led the Iowa Hawkeyes 58-48 with 7:48 remaining. But the Hawkeyes, helped by three Indiana turnovers, went on a 10-0 run to tie and ended up beating the Hoosiers 64-63. The Hoosiers failed to cash in as hometown favorites by 5.5 points and the score was under the 138.5 total. Hulls had a season-high 24 points and Oladipo had 12, but the latter will probably remember his missed point more than a dozen points. Indiana will have a chance to redeem itself on Tuesday when it takes on the No. 12 Purdue Boilermakers in a Big Ten matchup at Mackey Arena (7 pm ET, ESPN).

But Purdue (18-5 SU, 12-7 ATS, 7-3 Big Ten) will also be looking to avenge a loss in their last game, as the Boilermakers fell 66-59 to the Wisconsin Badgers last Tuesday. The Boilermakers failed to cash in as a 5 point underdog and the score remained under the 126.5 total. DJ Byrd’s jump shot put Purdue up 59-58 with 1:11 left, but the Badgers’ Ryan Evans shot from the free throw line and made the go-ahead jump shot. The Hoosiers are 6-4 SU and 8-2 ATS in the last 10 head-to-head meetings, but Purdue won both meetings last season. The Boilermakers won 74-55 but fell short as home favorites by 19.5 points on March 3, and won 78-75 but fell short as road favorites by 12 points on February 3. Four.
